This is a VERY warm jacket. I talked to customer service and this is probably their second warmest jacket the sell... The other being very expensive. This stops wind very well. I compared both this model and the other warmest one out in 14° high wind weather and these performed pretty equally. The only real differences is that this one lacks the luxury of the other... The zipper isn't as smooth, the fabric of the jacket shell and the liner near your hands isn't as nice, there's no additional warm neck collar built in so it's not as cozy near your face, no fur for the hood, etc. If you're ok layering up with a neck warmer and want to keep your costs down this is a winner. If you want the luxury aspect in addition to performance this is not it. If you want the weight feeling of down this also doesn't have that as it's primaloft but that keeps you warm even in you get wet (although this is water resistant). But coming from someone always cold who wants to be able to stand outside in a t-shirt and coat in frigid windy weather and not feel anything, this is a great jacket. It's also wind resistant. This fits a little looser than other spyder jackets as well...
