These boots are great! I ordered a pair back in November, and they quickly became my go-to winter footwear. While I don't think they are designed to provide considerable warmth, the cloth liner helps to trap some heat which, when paired with warm socks, is more than adequate on cold and windy winter days. The waterproofing does a great job of keeping your feet dry, too. I've worn these boots out in the rain and while trudging through snow and have not had any of it find its way into the boots. For me the fit was only pretty good. I feel like I have slightly wider feet than is average and certain manufacturers shoes tend to squeeze my feet in the area between the ball of my foot and my arch. I read reviews that stated that these were "narrow" so I was concerned that they may not fit comfortably. Fortunately, they were "good enough" out of the box. The fit has only improved over time as the leather has "stretched" to accommodate my feet. At this point I don't even think about the fit since they've been broken in.Not all is positive, though. After only about 30 to 40 times wearing the boots, one half of a boot loop tore free from the back of a boot while putting it on. This makes the loop useless and leaves an awkward bit of leather dangling from the back of boot. When the loop broke I wasn't applying an unreasonable amount of force to it, only what you'd expect when putting on your average pair of boots that provides a loop for pulling them on. This makes me a bit concerned about the boots' durability long term.I did contact Timberland about a warranty repair or replacement, and they are willing to replace them. If I do decide to go that route not only would I be responsible for paying at least $20-$30 shipping to ship them, I'm also then made to wait 2 to 3 weeks once they receive them to get a replacement back! At this point I can't decide if it's worth it to me to pay that much and be without my boots when the weather here is starting to get particularly nasty. I must be spoiled by other companies return and warranty policies, because I'm not particularly impressed with this warranty option. Is it too much to ask to have my return shipping paid for and for replacements to be provided without considerable delay when the product was defective?
