This is one heavy-duty clamp! I have owned one in the past and used it extensively to clamp restoration projects- chairs, table bases, odd shaped assemblies, etc. I use heated hide glue on many of the restoration projects and the "working time" is relatively short in comparison with modern water-based glues. This clamp is fast, can be pre adjusted, and does a fine job of distributing the pressure evenly. This is especially useful for chairs and tables. Clamp pads are eliminated as well as the time and complications of using windlass type methods or bar clamps. Expensive, yes, but it will pay for itself in time and frustration saved.
